We got dumped from YouTube...
Terms of Use,

Hi my name’s J.D. [last name]. I’m one half of a decorative rope bondage education duo called “Two Knotty Boys”. For the past six months I’ve been posting instructional videos and video blogs on YouTube. I’ve done everything I can to remain within the terms of use guidelines, having gone as far as to print them out and post them in my workroom. Still, yesterday evening (03/08/08) my account was suspended.

Given my attention to providing positive, educational, and compliant videos, I’m at a loss to understand why the suspension occurred. As irony would have it, one month ago I received an email invitation to the YouTube partner program (an offer I was seriously considering).

Adding to my dismay is the fact that I’ve been a consummate and enthusiastic supporter of YouTube and the YouTube viewer community. I not only post, but routinely view the videos of others and comment upon their content; in the process I’ve developed multiple YouTube friendships. With the suspension of my account, all those friendships have now been severed.

I still consider YouTube a positive and progressive contribution to the new world of online information exchange. I believe in its mission and I support its contribution to community. In turn, I would like to continue providing independently produced content under the YouTube banner.

Thus, I respectfully request the reconsideration of my YouTube suspension.

Thanks,

J.D. [last name]

Ha Ha Ha
the first time I was deleted from you Tube I posted a video, it made it into the top 100 for the day in 16 hours. By 22 - 23 hours I was suspended then deleted.

the second time I am not sure why I was deleted all I had was videos of turtles crawling through the house.

I guess Turtles are subversive somehow.

From Mark Yu

There is no sense to what they do. It may be viewers who flag rather than the YouTube moderators but who knows.
I know there are people who hunt and flag vids that are bond age related. Especially ones that are instructive. They consider them dangerous in that it encourages other to do it.
Perhaps another hosting service like LiveLeak or such will work.
We appreciate your efforts!

Best M.Yu

I really hate this kind of thing. :(

Please let us know if they give you a real reason.

Re: I really hate this kind of thing. :(

Thanks... My thoughts are they won't reply, but if they do I'll be sure to let you know what they say.

They won't reply, or they'll brush you off with a canned response. The only way to get a real answer is to get a lynch mob going (as someone suggested in the other thread).. but it'd have to be in the mainstream media with a lot of people behind you.

All this stuff is automated. I'm sure this ban is because of self-appointed internet censors who go around *looking* for stuff to ban-- and no matter how carefully you point out that you're within the ToU, these nuts will ban you because to them bondage == bad. Enough votes, and you get deleted, period.

Real porn, "degredation of women," "incitement to violence," etc. all cause a lot of work for the few people reviewing these complaints, so I don't expect they'll be very charitable to anything tarred with that brush. Maybe with things that could clearly blow up like (say) something about women's health they'll bother to reconsider, but really they just don't want controversy. So unless you get a get a good lynch mob going (and I'm sure they don't think you can get one going, at least outside SF), they're going to blow you off. Hey, they blew me off when I asked about one of your earlier bans.

FWIW, YT is still a pretty separate entity in Google. The production systems were moved to Google's infrastructure, but the running of the "property" is still all those people in San Bruno. (But I'm not saying Google would be any better these days.)

Thanks for this... (smile)

I likely wouldn't have known about it otherwise.
